The Importance of a Good Attitude

The longer I live, the more I understand the impact attitude has on life. Attitude to me is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say.

Many an unpleasant situation is relieved by a tactful remark; many an enemy is converted into a friend by a timely courtesy. Knowledge is a great factor toward success, but diplomacy is greater. One emanates from the mind, the other from the heart and the attitude. The combination of the two makes us broader, and those about us become happier. Our art becomes a dearer thing, because "the rough places are made smooth."

Attitude is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, a community, a home, etc. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. We also cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We can, however, change the way we feel about it.

Our attitude can help when we are learning a new skill. Pupils often miss the success they hope for because they have no marked aim. General purposes and general resolutions will not avail. Have a single purpose; one resolution. Read the works of a musician; let his spirit take hold of you, master all you can of his works, and do not allow yourself to be led aside by any mark other than the original.

If you think you don’t have the skills to learn an instrument, there is still an instrument you can try: a Hammond organ. You play and from the Hammond organ flow the myriad voices of music. Here you find sunlight, peace, memory – music that sweeps away each care. This is truly music’s most glorious voice – a voice so versatile that it can become your guide to new musical fulfillment. And, even a beginner can play the first lesson.

Your family’s life can be more fun with a Hammond Organ. You enjoy a closer companionship with your children. They too, can play even with little previous musical training. And this can be the beginning of an engrossing hobby or career. With music like this, their friends and yours come to listen, to play, to take part in the fun.

This kind of fun will certainly improve your attitude. We all know that life is 10% what happens and 90% how we react to it. And so it is with you. We are in charge of our attitude. And with music in our lives, it’s easier to have a good attitude every day.
